Croga Stack is a distinctive sea stack located on the remote island of Shetland in Scotland. Situated on the western coast of the island, it is part of the dramatic and rugged coastline that characterizes this region. The stack is composed of layers of ancient rock, formed over millions of years through the processes of erosion and weathering.

Rising to a height of approximately 40 meters (130 feet), Croga Stack stands tall and solitary, surrounded by the crashing waves of the North Atlantic Ocean. It is a prominent landmark, visible from various points along the coastline and from the surrounding areas.

The stack's name, "Croga," is derived from the Old Norse word meaning "neck," which accurately describes its slender and elongated shape. Over time, the relentless power of the waves has carved out an arch at the base of the stack, adding to its uniqueness and allure.

Croga Stack attracts nature enthusiasts, photographers, and adventurers who are captivated by its natural beauty and the challenge it presents. It is often used as a nesting site by a variety of seabirds, including puffins, fulmars, and guillemots, making it an important habitat for these species.

Visitors to Croga Stack can admire it from a distance or take in its grandeur up close by embarking on a boat trip or guided walk along the coastline. However, caution is advised due to the unpredictable and rugged nature of the surrounding terrain.

With its striking appearance and captivating location, Croga Stack is a remarkable natural feature that showcases the raw power and beauty of Shetland's coastal landscape.
