Oaklands.  Old Great North Road. This parade of shops lies alongside the old Great North Rd and includes a post office, off licence and florist.  The new flats are on the site of an old petrol station.  The photograph is taken from the end of Turpins Ride, a road named after Dick who rode past this spot on the famous ride on Black Bess.

Stockens Green, Knebworth. Stockens Green is private and owned by Knebworth Tenants Ltd.  The sign in the middle of the picture warns people er... not to use the green for er... well pretty much anything really.  I got the impression that having fun if you are a child certainly gets frowned on.
