It is the gatway for the <b><a href="https://wikitravel.org/en/Nam_Et-Phou_Louey_National_Protected_Area" rel="nofollow">Nam Et-Phou Louey National Protected Area</a></b>, which is home to a number of endangered species including tiger. <b><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laos" rel="nofollow">Laos</a></b>, officially the <b><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laos" rel="nofollow">Lao People's Democratic Republic</a></b>, or commonly referred to its colloquial name of Muang Lao, is a landlocked country in the heart of the Indochinese peninsula of Mainland Southeast Asia, bordered by Myanmar (Burma) and China to the northwest, Vietnam to the east, Cambodia to the south, and Thailand to the west.

It espouses Marxism and is governed by a single party communist politburo dominated by military generals. The Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Vietnam People's Army continue to have significant influence in <b><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laos" rel="nofollow">Laos</a></b>.   The capital city is Vientiane. Other large cities include Luang Prabang, Savannakhet, and Pakse. The official language is Lao.

Ban Houayniao is a small village located in the Louangphabang province in the Lao People's Democratic Republic. It is a rural, agricultural-based village and is home to approximately 300 people. The village is comprised of four small streets that run parallel to each other and intersect at the center. The streets are lined with traditional Lao wooden houses, and are often filled with locals going about their daily activities, such as cooking, washing, and tending to their animals.

The landscape of Ban Houayniao is dominated by a beautiful mountainside and a nearby river. The hills are populated with lush vegetation and trees, and the river is home to a variety of aquatic life. There are also small patches of farmland in the village, where the locals grow rice, vegetables, and other crops.

The people of Ban Houayniao are warm and welcoming, and the village is a peaceful, safe place to visit. The locals are very traditional and wear traditional Lao clothing.
