Kirby Hall has been described as one of the great Elizabethan houses of England. Located some 3 miles northeast of Corby, near the village of Gretton. Building commenced in 1570 and continued until 1583 with alterations and modifications until 1640. The house was not lived in by the family after the late 18th century and was occupied by tenants as it slowly deteriorated. Constructed of coursed, squared limestone with ashlar dressings and slate roofs. The buildings are arranged around a courtyard with an outer, entry, courtyard. Kirby Hall, located in Northamptonshire, England, is a magnificent Elizabethan mansion that stands as a testament to the grandeur and architectural prowess of the era.
