Eilean Mòr is a picturesque island located off the west coast of Scotland in Argyllshire. Also known as Big Island in English, it is the largest of the Treshnish Isles and covers an area of approximately 150 hectares. The island is characterized by its rugged and dramatic landscape, with towering cliffs, rocky shores, and rolling hills.

Eilean Mòr is renowned for its diverse wildlife and is designated as a Special Protection Area. It is home to a wide variety of seabirds, including puffins, guillemots, and razorbills, making it a popular destination for birdwatchers. The surrounding waters are also rich in marine life, with seals and dolphins often spotted in the area.

One of the island's most notable features is the famous Flannan Isles Lighthouse, which was built in 1899. The lighthouse stands on the western side of Eilean Mòr and played a crucial role in guiding ships through the treacherous waters of the North Atlantic. The mysterious disappearance of three lighthouse keepers in 1900 has added to the island's allure and has become the subject of various theories and legends.

Eilean Mòr offers visitors the opportunity to explore its natural beauty through walking trails and guided tours. The island's rugged terrain provides breathtaking views of the surrounding sea and nearby islands. Visitors can also enjoy picnicking, wildlife spotting, and photography.

Access to Eilean Mòr is primarily by boat, with regular ferry services available from nearby ports. The island provides a unique and tranquil escape, offering a glimpse into the wild and untouched beauty of the Scottish coast.
