East Gap Rock is a small uninhabited island located off the coast of Cornwall, England. Situated in the Celtic Sea, it lies approximately 2 kilometers south of the village of Portreath. The island is part of a group of rocks known as The Stones and is accessible only by boat during low tide.

East Gap Rock is relatively small, measuring about 100 meters in length and 50 meters in width. It is characterized by its rugged and rocky terrain, with steep cliffs that rise up to 20 meters above sea level. The island is composed mainly of granite, typical of the geological makeup of Cornwall.

Despite its small size, East Gap Rock is home to a variety of seabirds, including cormorants, gulls, and fulmars, which use the cliffs and rocky outcrops for nesting. The surrounding waters are known for their rich marine life, making the area popular among divers and snorkelers.

Due to its exposed location, East Gap Rock is particularly vulnerable to the strong currents and rough seas frequently experienced in the area. As a result, it is advised to approach the island with caution and only during calm weather conditions.

Overall, East Gap Rock offers a unique and picturesque landscape, attracting nature lovers, birdwatchers, and those seeking a remote and tranquil coastal experience.
