Inside Standedge Tunnel [2] The Huddersfield Narrow Canal's Standedge Tunnel is the longest, highest deepest canal tunnel in Britain. It took nearly two hours to boat through. I know exactly where we are at this point, as we went through at a steady speed until the very end and I timed the journey. The calculation is easy when your camera has a built-in clock!
