Cnoc an Teine, also known as the Hill of Fire, is a prominent hill located in Argyllshire, Scotland. Situated near the village of Taynuilt, it is part of the stunning landscape of the Scottish Highlands. Standing at an elevation of approximately 457 meters (1,499 feet), Cnoc an Teine offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding area.

The hill is known for its unique geological features, including exposed rock formations and rugged terrain. It is composed mainly of metamorphic rocks, such as schist and quartzite, which were formed over millions of years through intense pressure and heat. These rocks provide a striking contrast to the lush green vegetation that covers the hillside.

Cnoc an Teine is a popular destination for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts, offering various walking trails to cater to different levels of difficulty and fitness. The ascent to the summit is moderate, with well-defined paths and markers along the way. On a clear day, climbers are rewarded with spectacular vistas of Loch Etive, Glen Lonan, and the surrounding mountains.

The hill's name, Hill of Fire, originates from its association with ancient Celtic folklore. Legend has it that Cnoc an Teine was once the dwelling place of a fire deity who protected the land from evil spirits. Today, the hill continues to hold a mystical allure, attracting both locals and tourists alike to explore its natural beauty and connect with the rich history and folklore of the Scottish Highlands.
