This pond, which derives from old gravel workings, has no natural feed from any spring or stream. In recent years it has almost dried out as the water table in the area has dropped. However, active conservation work is in progress which should see the pond restored to its former very attractive appearance within a couple of years.

The householder at 146 Imperial Way, New Eltham, Kent has wisely had solar panels installed on his roof: if recent energy price increases are considered, he could have made a very wise move. Meanwhile, a pensioner waits for a bus on Route 162.

Coldharbour Community Hall, William Barefoot Drive, London SE 9

When the Coldharbour Estate was laid out by the then London County Council in the years following World War 2, everything was done to make it a pleasant place for those who would come to live there. And it is still a desirable location, with plenty of trees and open space, as can be seen here.

Railway overbridge, Sidcup, Kent

Originally this bridge, which adjoins Sidcup station, was so low that it could only be passed by single-deck buses. But following World War 2, the roadway was lowered to allow the passage of double-deckers, as seen here on the long Route 229 to Thamesmead Town Centre.
